Disc Golf - PDGA App Reviews

Nice, but...

A pretty cool app but I think its time for an update optimized for the iPhone 5.

Nice - but course upload is not working

In general ok, but: - course directory not accessible - no option to choose metric meters (really so stuborn my US friends?) -> its just a scorecard app, why not more?

Overpriced! Not worth $5.

There are better disc golf apps for cheaper.... Doesnt have good coverage for courses outside US. Save your money and buy something else.

Not really worth it.

Too expensive for a scorecard. I hope to see more features in an update soon. Simple scorecard apps are way cheaper.

Awesome !

The best usability scorecard Ive ever used on the iPhone ! And great "search course near you" ! I highly recommand it, way to go PDGA ! I hope the next version will provide stats & averages based on scores saved.

Not bad. Could be better.

Good simple app. It would be nice to get course averages and stats though in the next updates.

Suggested features

This app is pretty good but for the price should have a couple more features. The ability to delete rounds and players. Courses should have accurate scorecards with pars and distances and COURSE MAPS.

Sadly not worth the money

This is just a score card with a course guide attached the score cards dont even allow for back pads on nine hole courses or give you course details. If the money help the PDGA then great but I regret the purchase.

Neat

I wish that it would keep score associated with pdga number and save history and averages, best scores and course history!

hmm...

Recently facebook posting stoped working and reinstall did not help. This need to be fixed (or at least add export of scorecard to image so i can post it on my own)

Posting problems.

I am having a problem with it posting results to Facebook in my club site for regular leagues. I tried to post it three times and nothing...

A great start

I buy almost every dg scorecard app because I have yet to find the best one. I feel pretty confident that my search is over. Scoring is super easy and intuitive, and most importantly, the amount of time I spend on my phone is much less than any other scorecard app. Im out to disc golf, not to tap on my phone. Like most of the other reviewers I agree that this app could use a few improvements. Being able to post to Facebook is nice, but Id like to send that image via email, or twitter as well. And a tourney finder would be sweet, too. In the end, my only complaint is that sharing, or storing your rounds outside of the app is a little cumbersome (a minor complaint). This app is well worth the money.

Wonderful potential.

Great things have to start somewhere. The course directory is great for me, as I travel for work often. The scorecard works great. It would be a leap, but if it was completely user updated, the course length per hole, and pin locations (through photos) would set this app above the others. Never underestimate the power of the disc golf community. Imagine stepping up on a hole youve never played, with pictures of the basket, and even "recent notes" from players like, "lost a disc in the tall grass off the fairway". Another improvement that would utilize the GPS would be a shot-to-shot distance tracker. You can get immediate averages for your longest drives, and set records for yourself. These are just a few ideas Ive had that will raise the bar for this app. OH! And having the official rulebook on-demand with a keyword search (lost disc, 2 meter rule, falling putt, etc) would be awesome!! I think a PDGA member search would be cool. You would get a notification if someone using the app stepped onto the sane course your playing, and you could invite them into your scorecard when you arent even on the same hole. Now, lets see some updates for what Ive paid for!!

Needs user ability to add custom courses

This app is pretty good, but can be immensely frustrating. My local course has a full 18 holes and a 9-hole "X" course. This app lists it as 27. I can play the full 18, but still not get round ratings because the round is "incomplete." Same with Codorus: 54 holes split between 5 courses, but if you dont play all 54... "incomplete." DGA needs to do their homework and split these courses up, or allow user customization.

For the money, not up to par

For a premium priced app ($4-5), this app falls short. It can be very frustrating at times. My local course has a beginner 9-hole and an intermediate 18-hole, but the app combines the two into one big 27 hole course. Im never gonna play all 27 at once, so I can never get a round rating. Very frustrating. On a positive note, the UI is very good, simple and easy to work, and I love the fact that I can share round scores on Facebook. Another thing that would benefit this app would be to add a tab with the rules of play, for easy reference during a round (as opposed to opening up a new window in safari)

Good app could be better

I like the overall app. Its what its missing thats keeping it from 5 stars. The ability to complete a scorecard without playing an entire course or the courses that have multiple courses at the same location. Also being able to access the course maps would make this app invaluable!!! Keep up the good work and make this the absolute best disc golf app!!!!

Close to loving it. . . But?

I use this app all the time with my iPad. Could be the best app for disc golf. . . But! Please make graphics for iPad. Not expecting retina graphics, just original iPad resolution. Add player averages/stats in various charts. I want to see what each player has done over specific amount of time. Love everything else. Will convert to 5 stars after changes.

Good App, but to much $

This is a good app, just because its PDGA... It does need some interface work though. Id like to be able to view a course map with course layouts. It would also be a good idea to make it possible to rate a course and recommend it to other local players.

Somewhat nice, annoying

Why is it that when I play a course that has multiple courses on the property, you have to play all 36, or in some cases 54, holes to generate a round rating? To pay $5 and there to be an issue like this, that still hasnt been accessed is very annoying. Please fix ASAP.

App crashes A LOT

Pretty much every time I complete a round, it crashes. Im trying to view courses around me while Im out of town, it crashes. You try to edit player mid round, it crashes. To many bugs! Dont get me wrong, I use the app every round I play, its just that I couldnt agree more when everyone says its not worth the money. Im not even sure if Ive seen an update for this app since I bought it. I expect a little more from a $5 app. Do an update and fix all the bugs please!!
